My BA Final Senior Exhibition. I created work showcasing my 2d and 3d skills while keeping a Bee theme. The theme comes from the greek origin of my name, Melissa, and I have always liked bees for this reason. This work represents me and my skill. This project was created from January-April 2024. The bee painting includes a quote ink transfer onto the background; all of the paintings are acrylic. The sculpture is a wood hexagon frame with yellow acrylic laser cut hexagons on either side. There is a copper bee nailed to the top that I had cut out and then put in liver of sulfur chemical to darken. There are real plants throughout the frame. Lastly, the ceramic is a cylinder plant pot with hexagons randomly throughout. The bottom pot holder is plant-like, with a leafy rim.
